Player Profile: Mike “Muffin” Kunert

Posted by sharris2929 on April 2, 2011

 Name: Mike “Muffin” Kunert

Position: Third base, shortstop, outfield, record holding pitcher

The Low-Down: Mike, or Muffin as he is known by his legions of fans, returns to action after a two year hiatus.  He is a two year veteran of the Roy Hobbs league, and made a lasting impression with his big bat, his clutch playoff performances, and his lovable demeanor.  Muff was a fan favorite and a great clubhouse chemistry guy, and should waste no time in winning his new fans and teammates over this season.  His clutch playoff performances are the stuff of Roy Hobbs league legend, and earned him the bonus nickname “Mufftember” after his exploits in the season’s final month.

Expectations: Muff skyrocketed from virtual unknown to Roy Hobbs league icon in just two seasons, and a similar ascent is expected once play starts in the OTH League.  Expect Muff’s bat to make some big noise early and catch the attention of the league in a hurry.  Muff is known far and wide for the thunderous line drives he rains all over the field, particularly in clutch spots with the game on the line.  His defense is also a strength, and he is known for his spectacular plays at third (as well as his trademark nonchalance when he makes a great play).

Fun Fact: Muff is the nicest guy in the entire world.  This is not an editorialization or an opinion, it is a scientifically proven fact.
